Creative Cargo

20 April – 11 July 2015

Glasgow Sculpture Studios is delighted to announce its first Canal based artist-in-residence for Creative Cargo with Manchester based collective Owl Project.

Owl Project will embark on a journey of exploration as Canal based artists-in-residence. Working collaboratively and in response to the local communities in our area and directly inspired by the history, environment and future aspirations for the Forth and Clyde Canal, the artists will create a new body of performative and sculptural work to be launched at the annual Whisky Bond Building Summer Party on Saturday 11th July. Owl Project will work with various Young People and adult groups across North Glasgow and will focus on collaborative approaches to sound work, working directly with local music groups
to create new sound based installations focusing on the fusion of woodwork and technology, and adapting their existing synth based projects to the sounds of the area and its communities.

This residency is part of Glasgow Sculpture Studios Learning and Engagement programme Creative Cargo and is kindly funded by Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. More information about the overall programme and our funders can be found on our Learning and Engagement page
