Finishing k-scope
posted by Owl Project
Now most af the parts are cut, the next couple days will be spent finsing, every detail needs a final sanding and oil. All the gears for the K-Scope are made from European Oak, CNC parts assembeled and glued. Next to make the Pullies.
Our bearing blocks are made from disgarded off cuts from window cills, probably mahogany.
Even the axles for the gears need special ends for the bearings, this part is specially CNC cut, as its important to be centralised and needs to fit a bearing prescisely. Its made from the end grain of hard Yew, then glued and screwed to the end of the oak axle. This saves metal parts.
